FICPA Honors Rep. Cyndi Stevenson, CPA, with Lifetime Champion Award

The FICPA Governmental Affairs team has been hard at work traveling the state and actively collaborating with our members and esteemed leaders in the CPA profession. This week, the team had the pleasure of honoring Rep. Cyndi Stevenson, CPA, with a Lifetime Champion of the CPA Profession Award. Rep. Stevenson has been a great friend and champion of the profession and will be greatly missed.

With October coming to a close, we’re now only days away from the 2024 general election. For some (like us), it feels like the Super Bowl or Christmas morning, while others are just eager for a break from all the political ads. Either way, this will be a very consequential election, and the FICPA will provide you with all the essential details.

As we gear up for election week, your FICPA Governmental Affairs team is ready to bring you the latest insights and updates.

FICPA Presents Rep. Cyndi Stevenson with a Lifetime Champion of the CPA Profession Award
On Tuesday, the FICPA’s Governmental Affairs team honored Rep. Cyndi Stevenson, CPA, with its Lifetime Champion of the CPA Profession Award. Since her election to the Florida House of Representatives in 2015, Rep. Stevenson has served her district and her CPA colleagues with distinction. She has always been a friend and champion of CPA priorities, sponsoring key legislation and keeping her door open for the profession’s perspective.

As her distinguished tenure in the House concludes, it was a great honor for Chief External Affairs Officer Jason Harrell and Legislative Affairs & Governance Manager Brayden Harrell to present this award to Rep. Stevenson in her district. Rep. Stevenson took time to reflect on her legislative career and her impactful work not only for the CPA profession but also for the state of Florida. The FICPA extends its gratitude to Rep. Stevenson for her steadfast commitment to the profession and her friendship over the years. Her presence will be greatly missed in the halls of the Capitol.

NASBA Conference

This week, FICPA CEO Shelly Weir and Chief External Affairs Officer Jason Harrell, along with other members of the Florida delegation, attended NASBA’s annual meeting, held this year in Orlando. The conference gathered distinguished leaders from the CPA profession, representing diverse voices and perspectives from across the nation. Attendees engaged in dynamic discussions on the future of accounting, shared innovative practices, and collaborated on strategies to navigate the profession’s evolving landscape.
