How to Volunteer With the FICPA

Volunteering with the FICPA is one of the best professional development experiences you can have while giving back to your profession and community. As a volunteer, you have the opportunity to:

  • Expand your connections both professionally and personally.
  • Serve in a leadership role on one of our committees or as a chapter officer.
  • Participate in philanthropic efforts like CPA Day of Service.
  • Assist during a CPE course or peer review.
  • Work with students in your local community and through the FICPA Scholarship Foundation.

Committee Service

Fiscal year 2025-26 applications will open in January of 2025.


Standing Committees

Standing Committees are by appointment from the Nominations Committee operating in alignment with a core set of define values.

A "Call for Nominations" is opened in June of each year to all CPA Members in good standing.

Audit Committee


The Audit Committee oversees annual external audit and reports findings and internal recommendations to Council.

Investment Policy Committee


The Investment Policy Committee oversees investment portfolio and implements investment strategies in accordance with IPS and reports performance to Council.

Nominations Committee


The Nominations Committee identifies, interviews, and finalizes nominations of all Council, Board, and Standing Committee Positions.


Knowledge Resource Groups

Volunteer your expertise on a resource group of peers. Engagement and time commitments vary.

Young Professionals

If you're a CPA 35 years old or younger, join the Young Professionals and make connections at local networking events, participate in professional development programs and sharpen your leadership skills. 


Chapter Officers

Service as a chapter officer is a great opportunity to lead in your local community amongst your peers and make a difference. Chapter positions include:

  • Chair
  • Chair-elect
  • Secretary
  • Treasurer
  • Programming Officer

Offices are held for one year, or until their successors are elected for the following fiscal year.


The FICPA has 22 chapters in six districts in the state.


Women's Leadership

The Women's Leadership Committee promotes the growth, advancement and recognition of women in the accounting and finance profession through professional development, mentoring and recognition through the Women to Watch awards.


CPA Day of Service

Every year, the FICPA Young CPA Committee spearheads this annual statewide outreach in May for all FICPA members. Across the state, CPAs host service events to give back to their communities, meet other members, and gather together.

Student Ambassadors

Student Ambassadors are the face of the FICPA on college campuses across the state. As an Ambassador, you’ll gain valuable hands-on experience in leading, organizing, and enhancing the FICPA student network.
