Economic Nexus & Wayfair

The latest trap for CPAs is economic nexus. Economic nexus is a way clients could be liable for sales tax in a state. Where the liability comes into play for CPAs is if the CPA does not address the issue for the client or assist the client with determining whether the client’s activities are taxable in the state. Either of these aspects could spell huge problems for a CPA. This course provides several points of knowledge for the CPA to learn and understand how to effectively implement a plan of action for clients. As a practical approach, this is a must for any practitioner handling clients with transactions across state lines. The presenter, David Brennan, is an attorney with Moffa, Sutton, & Donnini.
