Karl is the founding partner of Orlando-based Sun and Surf Performance Consulting, possessing over 20 years of experience in adult learning, professional facilitation, and instructional design. His passion finds him working directly with live classroom participants in fun and engaging workshop environments. He has conducted interactive sessions for clients around the world and he is known for the energy and excitement he brings to his sessions.
Karl’s speaking engagements focus on client-specific topics such as team collaboration, learning walls, train the trainer skills and leadership retreats. He also delivers more traditional professional development workshops in three critical areas:
• Business development
• Leadership
• Professional soft skills
Case studies, debates, simulations, gaming, and other creative strategies are hallmarks of the kinds of courses Karl has built and delivered to clients in various industries around the world.
Most of Karl’s work finds him supporting professional firms that offer audit / advisory / tax solutions and Karl brings value to his engagements by blending his knowledge of the industry with his broader experiences related to adult learning and performance consulting. Other industries that Karl supports include pharmaceutical, technology, and automotive.
In addition to his facilitation and presentation expertise, Karl also serves clients as a learning strategist. In this capacity, Karl works with clients to define a firm’s learning or organizational challenge and then creates a specific plan to address the challenge in a practical & realistic way. His client work cuts across all delivery methods ranging from full curricula design to web based training, to virtual classrooms, to podcast production.
Karl has a B.S. with advanced coursework in Instructional Systems Design from Ithaca College.
