About The Instructor
Barbara grew up in Jacksonville before moving to Tallahassee to attend Florida State University. She obtained her Bachelor degrees in Accounting and Finance, and her Masters in Accounting from FSU. After graduation she relocated to Hampton Roads, Virginia where she worked for a local governmental agency. She and her husband, Ben, returned to Jacksonville in 2006. In her current position, Barbara focuses her efforts on providing assurance services to her clients. Her industry focus centers mainly on not-for-profit, as well as other service provider industries. Internally, Barbara assists on providing and organizing the required trainings to ensure the not-for-profit group maintains the required knowledge skills. These experiences help her to provide advice and guidance to her clients throughout the year.She is a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and serves on multiple boards in the community, including the position of treasurer for OneJax, a local organization that works to overcome bias, bigotry and racism.
In her free time, Barbara enjoys spending time with her husband and children, Madeline and Hudson, playing golf, and following the Florida State Seminoles.
