Special Guest & Event Ambassador:
PROFESSOR CELINA L. JOZSI, CPA, MAcc
Retiring after 35 years of service as a faculty member at USF, Celina joined the Faculty at Florida Southern College in 2014. During Celina career at USF she was the recipient of 20 Teaching Awards, including “The FICPA Outstanding Accounting Educator Award”. She was past President of the Tampa Bay Chapter of National Association of Accountants, Beta Gamma Sigma, and Faculty advisor of Beta Alpha Psi at USF. Celina was also recognized as “Hispanic Woman of the Year in Education” by the Tampa Bay Hispanic Heritage Foundation.
Celina’s life and her impact on so many lives in the Tampa Bay area could have been much different. As one of the children on the “Peter Pan” flights in the early 60s, her parents sent Celina and her sister to the US from Cuba, alone, to escape communism. She and her sister spent time in an orphanage before being reunited with her parents after a year and a half.
Her resilience - and as many have said, her stubbornness played into her teaching style and presence on countless committees, community organizations, and professional groups.
We are proud to have Professor Celina Jozsi, CPA, MAcc, as our 2019 Scholarship Night Ambassador and Guest of Honor.
