About The Instructor

Mr. Hollander is currently practicing as a consultant to CPA and other professional services firms, focusing on SEC accounting and auditing matters, and litigation consulting services. He is a retired partner of Marcum LLP, CPAs in Miami, Florida, where he served as a partner in the firm's Assurance and Advisory Divisions. He was involved in SEC, accounting and auditing services, as well as litigation consulting services and peer review services performed by the firm.

Mr. Hollander has been actively involved in professional activities with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He has served as a member of the Auditing Standards Board from 1984 to 1986, and was heavily involved with the Peer Review Committee of the Private Companies Practice Section of the AICPA, having served as chairman of the Peer Review Committee from 1980 to 1983 and a member of that committee from its inception in 1978 to 1980. In addition, Mr. Hollander was a member of several other committees, including the Quality Control Standards Committee, Continuing Professional Education Executive Committee, and Centennial Public Relations Committee.

Mr. Hollander received the AICPA's forensic accounting credential Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF) in 2008. In Florida, Mr. Hollander has been actively involved in professional activities with the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Mr. Hollander served as Vice-President (1979-1980) and Treasurer (1978-1979) of the FICPA, was a member of the Board of Governors, and was President of the Dade County Chapter of the FICPA in 1976-1977. He also served as chairman of a number of committees (Accounting Principles, Continuing Professional Education, and Community Responsibilities), as well as a member of several other committees. Mr. Hollander is presently serving as a member of the Peer Review Committee of the New York State Society of CPAs.

Mr. Hollander is involved in continuing education activities, serving as an instructor for the AICPA, as well as Marcum LLP, in various subjects dealing with SEC reporting and public company update issues, as well as current accounting and auditing matters. In Miami, Florida, Mr. Hollander is the past chair and a member of the President's Council of Florida International University. In 2010, Mr. Hollander was awarded the Cal Kovens Distinguished Community Service Award during the FIU Fall Commencement exercises, and was also recognized as the Honorary Alumnus of the Year by the School of Accounting at FIU.

Additionally he is a past chair and member of the Board of Directors of Family Counseling Services of Greater Miami. Mr. Hollander is a graduate of Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, having graduated cum laude with a B.S. degree in Commerce and Finance, with a major in accounting, in June 1955.
