About The Instructor

James M. Dwyer is an audit manager with the Office of the Auditor General of the State of Florida. He is responsible for local government activities of the Office of the Auditor General, including management of all audits of local governments and the review of local government audit reports, and all audits of the judicial branch of State government. He has been employed by the Office of the Auditor General for over 31 years.

Mr. Dwyer is a graduate of the University of Central Florida and is a CPA. He is a member of the American and Florida Institutes of Certified Public Accountants and the Florida Government Finance Officers Association, and is currently a member of the FGFOA board of directors and the FICPA State and Local Government Section Steering Committee.

Mr. Dwyer has been a frequent speaker at FICPA and FGFOA conferences and local chapter meetings. He has authored or co-authored several articles on various topics for the FICPA and FGFOA.
