DBPR Implements Major Reporting Changes

1. DBPR’s On-Line Services Requires a One Time Registration

All licensees, regardless if you have already established an account with DBPR’s On-Line Services, are required to register as a new user. Click here to go to the registration page, and then click on the “Registration” link under the “New Users” heading to begin the process.

Once you have registered you will receive an email with a temporary password and then you will create your own unique, secure password. If you do not receive the email with the temporary password after a short amount of time be sure to check your Junk Email or SPAM folder.

After you have successfully logged in you will be able to link your license to the online account you created.

From your linked account you will now be able to perform the following functions on this license:

  • Renew
  • Make payments
  • Update an address
  • Report your CPE (see below)


2. Check the box to report your CPE

Beginning with the 2011 renewal period, the Board of Accountancy will use the honor system to report CPE. Once you have completed by June 30th the required 80 hours of CPE to include 20 in accounting/auditing subjects, and 4 in board approved ethics, the licensee will affirm by way of checking the box √ to affirm that the necessary hours were completed and that documentation evidence completion will be retained for possible CPE audit.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Question: The CPE portal no longer allows me to enter CPE hours, how do I report my CPE?
Answer: Florida CPAs are no longer required to report their CPE to DBPR and therefore the online CPE reporting component has been disabled.

Question: Did the number of hours or deadlines to complete CPE change?
Answer: No, you still must complete 80 hours of CPE to include 20 in accounting/auditing subjects, and 4 in board approved ethics by June 30th of the renewal year. If you do not complete hours by June 30th, then the automatic extensions with penalty hours still apply.

IMPORTANT NOTE: It is the FICPA’s understanding that DBPR's online portal to renew your license (payment of fee, affirm that you maintained proof of CPE and attest that you completed your CPE) will be available on July 15 (refer to this page for confirmation). For those licensees who do not renew online by Oct. 1, you will receive a renewal notice in the mail by Oct. 15.

3. Ensure the Hours Reported to DBPR Are Correct Utilize FICPA CPE TRACKER

Let the FICPA keep track of your CPE credits online!


The CPE Tracker is a free online member service that automatically records CPE credit hours earned for every FICPA course you attend. The interactive tracking system helps you maintain a current record of all CPE credit-hour totals for your specified period.

Your personalized CPE report will automatically display every FICPA CPE course taken within your reporting period and you can choose to add credits from non-FICPA courses you attend.*

Your online records are password protected to ensure your privacy. Some useful features of the CPE Tracker include:

  • A detailed report showing each course name, attendance date, breakdown of credit type and course sponsor;
  • Direct links to the FICPA online CPE Catalog enabling you to search for courses that satisfy your CPE requirements;
  • Access to historical CPE totals from previous reporting periods.
