Carl Pacini, PhD

Professor of Accounting
University of South Florida

Carl Pacini is a Professor of Accounting at the University of South Florida-St. Petersburg, where he teaches auditing, business law and forensic accounting courses.   Prior to USFSP, he taught for 10 years at Florida Gulf Coast University, Ft. Myers, Florida and for 2 ½ years at Penn State University. He received his Ph.D. in accounting from Florida State University and his law degree from the University of Notre Dame.  He is a Florida CPA, Certified in Financial Forensics (AICPA designation) and a member of the Florida Bar and the FICPA.  He has made numerous CPE presentations to the Georgia Society of CPAs, Florida Institute of CPAs, American Association of Attorney-CPAs, Institute of Internal Auditors and groups in Pennsylvania. He is a co-author of the first edition AICPA published textbook entitled The Essentials of Forensic Accounting. He has published numerous articles in various academic and practitioner journals including the Journal of Forensic Accounting Research, Journal of Forensic and Investigative Accounting, Journal of Accountancy, The CPA Journal, Auditing:  A Journal of Practice & Theory, Journal of Accounting, Auditing and Finance, Journal of Business Finance and Accounting, Abacus, Advances in Accounting, Research in Accounting Regulation, Journal of Management Information Systems, the Delaware Journal of Corporate Law, Marquette Law Review, the American Business Law Journal and Drake Law Review.
