Since 1993, the FICPA has created and arranged for the airing of public service announcements (PSAs) emphasizing the theme of “Florida Certified Public Accountants: Educated, Tested and Certified To Serve.” These PSAs have served to educate consumers about the stringent licensure requirements for CPAs, and typically have run on broadcast and cable television stations throughout Florida during tax season. Supported by funds provided by the Florida Legislature, last year’s unlicensed-activity campaign generated more than 48,000 televised spots with a value of nearly $2 million. |
